Local Swing Dance Organization Gears Up For Next Event
Swing Dance Vegas Dot Com prepares dance community for VX 2009

Las Vegas – August 3, 2009 (SwingDanceVegas.com) Swing Dancing in Las Vegas is alive and well and led by a group of dancers with a big vision. Aruba Swings is supported by the Swing Dance Vegas organization and offers free lessons and social dancing at the Thunderbird Lounge located at the Aruba Hotel and Spa. The historic hotel will also be the site of The 2009 Vegas Exchange(VX): Enter the Swingout.

A Lindy Exchange is an annual gathering of Lindy Hop dancers in one city for several days to experience the venues and styles of that local dance community. This is the third year Swing Dance Vegas has hosted a themed exchange in Las Vegas and look forward to another successful year.

This years theme is Enter the Swingout based on the popular Bruce Lee movie “Enter the Dragon.” The Martial Arts themed weekend will host a dress up night, a dance competition and a VX signature event: The DJ Battle Royal. The DJ Battle was the brain child of Mark Brunton organizer of The Vegas Exchange. “This was my way to allow DJs who normally wouldn't be invited to DJ at a Lindy Exchange,” states Brunton. “This also gives dancers a chance to experience music from different DJs from across the country.”

VX 2009 will be held October 2-4, 2009 at the Aruba Hotel and Spa located at 1215 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89104. The hotel will offer VX attendees special room rates for the weekend and reservations can be made directly from The VX website www.TheVegasExchange.net.

Aruba Swings has been hosted by Swing Dance Vegas for the past four years at the Thunderbird Lounge every Friday night except the first.
