What is swing dancing?
Swing dancing developed in the 1920s and continues to be danced today. There are three popular styles of swing dancing known as Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing and Blues Dancing.
Lindy Hop began in 1927 and is usually danced to old school jazz music. Vintage clothing and nostalgia are embraced.
West Coast Swing
West Coast Swing evolved into a more linear, smooth form of swing dancing. It is danced to contemporary or blues music.
Blues dancing is typically danced in a closer embrace. It is danced to blues music, which is usually in a slower tempo.
